Palatine, IL: The Harper College Hawks hosted the Kishwaukee College Kougars and South Suburban College Bulldogs in a tri-match on Saturday. Both Kishwaukee and Harper entered the day looking to improve their respective records, while South Suburban aimed to stay close to a .500 win percentage. Here's how the action unfolded:

Match 1: Harper College vs. Kishwaukee College
Harper Wins 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-23)

Harper College started the day strong with a straight-set victory over Kishwaukee, improving to 7-11 for the season. The Hawks were led by a well-rounded offensive attack and resilient defense.

Set 1: Harper took control early in the opening set with a 13-8 lead, thanks to strong serving runs from
Taylor Coutts and Maya Sokolowski. Kishwaukee rallied late, but Harper's relentless offense closed out the set 25-16. Morgan Krieter and Mira Tchohadjieva each registered 3 kills. Coutts delivered a perfect 8-for-8 performance at the service line, adding an ace, while Sokolowski went 6-for-6 with an ace as well.
Set 2: The second set was closely contested, with the teams exchanging points early. Harper found themselves trailing 13-17 at one point, but
Abbie Greenberg's serving sparked a comeback. The Hawks closed on a 6-0 run, winning the set 25-19. Tchohadjieva and Evie Mounts each tallied 3 kills, while Greenberg went a perfect 9-for-9 from the service line, adding an ace.
Set 3: The final set was a back-and-forth battle, tied at 11-11 before Harper surged ahead. Kishwaukee closed the gap late, but Harper held on to take the set 25-23 and complete the sweep.
Sokolowski recorded 5 kills, while Krieter contributed 4 kills. Sokolowski was also strong at the service line, going 5-for-6 with 3 aces. Greenberg had a flawless performance, serving 6-for-6 and adding an ace of her own.

Harper capped off a perfect day by dominating South Suburban College in the afternoon match, improving to 8-11 on the season. The Hawks controlled the pace of play from start to finish.

Set 1: Harper came out firing, jumping to an early 10-1 lead behind
Coutts' serves. South Suburban struggled to gain any momentum as the Hawks cruised to a 25-10 set win. Lauren Ahlstedt, Krieter, and Mounts each posted 3 kills. Major contributed 9 digs and was flawless at the service line, going 7-for-7 with 2 aces.
Set 2:
Kim also had a perfect serving performance, going 6-for-6 with an ace.on a 10-3 run to finish the set 25-13. Greenberg had 5 kills, and Sokolowski and Ahlstedt each had 3 kills and a block. Coutts was 5-5 serving.
Set 3: The Hawks saved their most dominant performance for the final set.
Coutts and Greenberg combined for strong service runs, pushing Harper ahead 19-8. They wrapped up the match with a commanding 25-8 win. Krieter was on a mission in the final set, racking up 6 kills. Coutts was perfect from the service line, going 7-for-7 with 2 aces, while Greenberg also went 5-for-5, adding 2 aces of her own.

Across both matches,
Greenberg delivered a flawless serving performance, going 23-for-23 with 4 aces. Coutts was equally impressive, serving 21-for-21 with 4 aces, while Major added a perfect 15-for-15 from the line.
On the day,
Greenberg recorded 10 kills with only one error, achieving a hitting efficiency of 33.3%. Mounts also had a strong performance with 9 kills and just one error, resulting in a hitting efficiency of 24.2%.
