Hawks Fall to Region 4 Rival Chaparrals

Palatine, IL: In a hard-fought Region 4 matchup, the Hawks men's basketball team came up short against the DuPage Chaparrals, losing 65-53. Despite a strong effort, the Hawks were unable to overcome their rivals, who led throughout much of the game.  
The Chaparrals set the tone early, taking a 31-25 lead into halftime behind efficient play on both ends of the court. Braylen Meredith spearheaded the attack for DuPage, finishing as the game's top scorer with 18 points.  

Harper was led by Joe Calombo Kimbirima, who scored 15 points, and Luke Sinisa, who posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Amari Northcutt played a key facilitating role, dishing out 6 assists.  

The Hawks shot 44.4% from the field but struggled from beyond the arc, converting just 25% of their three-point attempts. Harper found more success at the free-throw line, hitting 73.3%, but turnovers and inconsistent shooting allowed DuPage to maintain control.  

The Hawks will look to regroup and bounce back in their next outing as they continue their push for postseason contention.
