Hawks Drop 5th Game of Season

Palatine, IL: The Hawks men's basketball team hosted Moraine Valley Community College on November 11 and battled throughout but ultimately came up short in a 49-72 loss. The Hawks competed with energy and effort against a strong Cyclones squad, but difficulties on the offensive end and limited scoring opportunities made it hard to keep pace. 

Harper's scoring was paced by freshman center Kevin Edgecombe, who finished with 14 points on efficient shooting and added six rebounds while contesting at the rim. Guard Darrion Pippen chipped in 10 points with active defense and effort on both ends, and Isaiah Manley recorded six points while contributing on the glass. Anthony Hnilo provided six points with multiple drives to the basket, while Logan Arteaga scored a quick two points in limited action. 

The Hawks struggled to find consistent rhythm from the perimeter and were just 1-of-14 from three-point range. Harper's offense also faced pressure from turnovers and second-chance opportunities for Moraine Valley, which shot efficiently throughout the game. The Cyclones led by double digits for much of the second half and sealed the victory with strong defensive execution and rebounding.
