Peeples Drops 19 Against Lake County

Grayslake, IL: The Hawks men's basketball team battled at College of Lake County on November 13 but fell 71-86. The Hawks kept the game competitive for much of the first half and showcased balanced scoring, but Lake County's transition play and depth eventually pulled away in the second half.

Harper received strong offensive nights from Rashad Peeples, who led all scorers with 19 points, and Vanja Mrduljas, who added 17 points on efficient shooting. Darrion Pippen contributed 14 points with activity around the basket, and Wesley White chipped in eight points while grabbing seven rebounds. Freshman Marin Mrduljas provided energy on both ends and finished with four points, while Kevin Edgecombe and Isaiah Manley provided complementary minutes off the bench. Harper connected on 42.6 percent of its field goals and shot over 94 percent from the free throw line, keeping the Hawks in striking distance early.

After a productive first half in which Harper led 38-37, the Hawks were outscored in the second stanza as Lake County capitalized on momentum swings and executed in key moments. Turnovers and a few cold offensive stretches allowed the Lancers to extend their lead, and Harper was unable to fully counter despite persistent effort.
