Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Hawks Fall to Spartans

Elgin, IL: The Hawks men's basketball team encountered a tough night at Elgin Spartans, falling 48-90 on November 4.

Offensively Harper struggled to find its rhythm, shooting just 37% from the field and 23% on three-point attempts. The Hawks managed only 18 points in the first half, while Elgin poured in 55 to take firm control.

Freshman center
Kevin Edgecombe produced 9 points, 10 rebounds, and multiple blocks, showing signs of what he can become. Forward Vanja Mrduljas climbed to 11 points while guard Rashad Peeples added 13 points.

Turnovers and missed opportunities weighed heavily on Harper. The team committed 21 turnovers in the first half alone and struggled to stay competitive as Elgin built its lead. While Harper cut down mistakes in the second half, the deficit proved too large to overcome.

Though the result was disappointing, the young Hawks' are still adjusting to the demands of NJCAA Division II basketball. They with a clear understanding of the pace, physicality, and execution it takes to succeed at this level.

The Hawks will play tomorrow at Truman at 6:00 PM.
