Hawks Struggle in Road Loss at Waubonsee

Sugar Grove, IL: The Hawks men's basketball team faced a difficult outing on the road Saturday, falling 64-110 at Waubonsee Community College. Despite a determined effort, Harper was unable to keep pace with the home squad, as Waubonsee's balanced scoring and physical play created separation early and often. 

Harper's scoring was paced by Marin Mrduljas, who led the Hawks with 19 points on solid shooting and efficient trips to the free-throw line. Rashad Peeples added 12 points with multiple contested looks, and Vanja Mrduljas chipped in 10 points while helping anchor the frontcourt. Kevin Edgecombe contributed eight points and continued to battle for rebounds in traffic. Other contributors included Oscar Engfors with seven points and Wesley White with six. 

Harper shot just over 40 percent from the field, but struggled from behind the arc, connecting on only three of 22 attempts. The defense rotated and competed, but Waubonsee's efficient 52 percent shooting and timely offense stretched the lead into a margin the Hawks could not overcome. 

Turnovers and missed opportunities in transition put additional pressure on Harper, and while the Hawks maintained effort throughout, the deficit remained too large to rally in the second half.
