Hawks Drop Home Game to McHenry County

Palatine, IL: The Hawks men's basketball team fell 74-67 to McHenry County College Tuesday night in a competitive home game that saw the Hawks fight hard but come up short. Harper battled throughout and remained within striking distance down the stretch, showing energy and effort on both ends of the floor even as the score fluctuated in a tight contest.

Offensively, Harper was led by
Isaiah Manley with a team-high 15 points, including three made three-pointers, as he helped the Hawks stay in rhythm early and late. Rashad Peeples added 14 points, connecting on four triples and attacking the rim when opportunities arose. Joe Calombo Kimbirima scored 11 points while contributing defensively, and Oscar Engfors provided a solid seven points on efficient shooting. Vanja Mrduljas chipped in six points, and Kevin Edgecombe scored nine while battling inside for rebounds and paint presence. Wesley White added two points with effort on the boards, and Marin Mrduljas saw action in limited minutes.

Harper shot 40.6 percent from the field and nearly 39 percent from three-point range, keeping the game within reach through a blend of perimeter shooting and inside play. The Hawks made eight of 15 free throws and competed on the glass, but turnovers and points off turnovers contributed to McHenry's edge. The home team also struggled to consistently convert late in the clock against a disciplined McHenry defense, which capitalized on momentum swings throughout the night.
