Hawks Earn Second Win of the Season

Palatine, IL: The Hawks women's basketball team notched its second win of the 2025–26 season, defeating Kishwaukee College 51-44 in a Region 4 home game on Thursday at Hawks' Fieldhouse. Harper controlled much of the game and displayed balanced contributions on both ends of the floor in a competitive performance. 

The Hawks opened with a 14-12 first-quarter advantage and used a strong second quarter to build separation, outscoring Kishwaukee 20-8 before the half. Harper maintained its lead through the second half and closed the game out with consistent scoring and defense as time wound down. 


Marque Taylor led the Hawks with 16 points on efficient shooting, going 5 of 8 from the field and 6 of 6 from the free throw line, while adding 9 rebounds. Ariana Buss scored 16 points as well, including one three-pointer, and contributed 4 steals to help spark Harper's defense. Hailey Franczkowski added 8 points, connecting on two three-pointers, while Zariela Myles scored 5 points with active play in limited minutes. 

In the paint and on the glass, Harper was strong, finishing with 49 total rebounds.
Gabriella Swanson fought for 12 rebounds, anchoring the interior, and Xzandria Turner added 8 rebounds and 2 steals in nearly 30 minutes of action. Kinsley Stillman chipped in 5 points and 9 rebounds as part of the Hawks' collective effort. 

Harper shot 24.2 percent from the field and 16.0 percent from three, while converting 15 of 24 free throws (62.5 percent). Kishwaukee finished with 18 of 66 shooting and was held without a made three-pointer in the game.
