Hawks Valorant Team Wins Second in a Row

Palatine, IL: The Hawks eSports team continued their strong start to the season with a commanding 2-0 victory over the Missouri State Bears, securing wins of 13-3 and 13-2. The Hawks showcased their dominance on both maps, with key performances across the roster leading to an emphatic win.

Patrick Olechno (Sloth) was the star of the series, racking up an incredible 54 kills and setting the tone for Harper's aggressive playstyle. In the second game, Faris Khan (DarkZ) stepped up in a big way, finishing with 325 ACS and 20 kills, helping the Hawks close out the series in dominant fashion. Meanwhile, the duo of Emil Zhumagaliyev (Podpivas) and Zion Villaluz (/Palatine High School) (NoiZ) combined for 43 assists, providing crucial support that kept the team in control throughout both matches.

Team captain Giovanni Romero (polar_bear) praised the team's performance, saying, "Overall, we played really well and felt in sync/locked in the whole time. Our hard work is finally paying off and we are hopeful to pull a 180 from last semester." He also highlighted Olechno's impact, adding, "Sloth had a standout performance, being very oppressive on duelist. His presence could be felt throughout both games."

Zhumagaliyev also credited Romero's leadership, stating, "Polar bear showed phenomenal leadership in both games, leading the team to a huge win. He always knows what plays to call and how to keep his team working like a well-oiled machine."

With this win, the Hawks improve to 2-0 on the season and will look to continue their momentum against the UIS Prairie Stars on Monday, the 17th.
