Hawks Valorant Stays Perfect with Sweep Over Vikings

Palatine, IL: The Hawks eSports Valorant team continued their dominant run, securing a 2-0 sweep over the Grand View Vikings. The Hawks set the tone early with a commanding 13-1 victory in Game 1 before closing out the series with a 13-9 win in Game 2, improving to 5-0 on the season.

Team Captain
Giovanni Romero (polar_bear) reflected on the team's mindset and commitment to improvement after the match. "It ultimately comes down to the realization that we are not invincible. We are not perfect and should not act as such," Romero said. "Complacency and overconfidence kill many teams' chances at winning and improving. We are continually improving and taking an introspective look at our gameplay to find ways to get better."

Patrick Olechno (Sloth) continued his MVP-caliber season with another standout performance, posting 29 and 30 kills across the two games. Meanwhile, Zion Villaluz (NoiZ) played a crucial yet often overlooked role in securing the win. "NoiZ had an extremely solid ending to Game 2, which may have gone unnoticed," said Coach Don Curley. "Within the last 10 rounds, he managed to secure 14 assists. Sloth was picking up crucial kills off of Noiz's well-placed flashes and utility."

With another dominant victory in the books, the Hawks now shift their focus to their next matchup against Marquette on Monday, February 10, as they look to keep their undefeated season alive.
