Hawks Celebrate Sophomore Night Against Joliet

Palatine, IL: The Hawks women's basketball team honored their sophomores on a special night as they faced the Joliet Wolves. Sophomores Taliyah Morales and Meghan Ewanio took the floor as starters, making an impact in their final home game. Morales led the Hawks with 7 points, while Ewanio added 6 in a hard-fought contest.

Freshmen
Gabriella Swanson and Kinsley Stillman also made their presence felt, combining for 10 rebounds and 2 steals as the Hawks battled against a tough Joliet squad. Fellow sophomores Ashley Harrison, Brianna Linnemann, Emma Kruvalis, and Gwendale Porter all contributed valuable minutes in their final home appearance.

Morales wraps up two seasons with the Hawks basketball program, while Ewanio has been a key part of Harper athletics, spending the last two years as the starting goalkeeper for the soccer team. Porter also represented Harper on the soccer field for two seasons and played a year of softball. Harrison and Linnemann were both part of last season's softball team, with Harrison also competing on the national runner-up cross country team this past fall.

As the season winds down, Coaches
Mari Neberieza and Damian Robinson expressed their appreciation for the leadership and dedication of their sophomore class, who have helped lay the foundation for the program's future in NJCAA DII.

The Hawks have three games left with a home game vs MATC tomorrow, an away contest at DuPage Tuesday night, and one final home game next Saturday against Wright.
