Mari Neberieza served as the head women’s basketball coach at Harper College during the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 seasons, leading the program and overseeing all aspects of team operations, including recruiting, player development, and program culture.

During her tenure, Neberieza guided the program through its transition from NJCAA Division III to Division II, helping lay the foundation for a more competitive and forward-looking era of Harper women’s basketball.

In addition to her primary role, Neberieza also contributed to Harper Athletics as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program during the 2024 and 2025 seasons, supporting player development and team culture.

Neberieza brought a diverse coaching background across the collegiate and high school levels. Prior to Harper, she served as an assistant coach at Prairie State College (2023–2024) and McHenry County College (2016–2017), and was the head women’s basketball coach at Robert Morris University–Peoria (2017–2018). At the high school level, she held coaching roles at Carl Sandburg High School, Mount Pulaski High School, and Marian Catholic High School, gaining experience in both head and assistant coaching positions.

She was pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University when coaching Harper. Neberieza earned her bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University in 2025 and holds an associate degree from Moraine Valley Community College.
