Hawks Show Offensive Growth in Loss to Kankakee

Palatine, IL: Despite a tough 74-32 loss to the Kankakee Cavaliers, the Hawks women's basketball team showcased signs of offensive improvement, particularly in the fourth quarter. Harper outscored Kankakee 15-12 in the final period, finding a rhythm that had eluded them earlier in the contest.

Meghan Ewanio led the charge with 17 points, including three three-pointers, while also contributing defensively with two blocks and a steal. Xzandria Turner added 10 points and pulled down six rebounds, providing a strong inside presence. On the defensive end, Taliyah Morales made an impact with three steals and three blocks, helping keep the Cavaliers in check late. Anjanae Tyree and Gabriella Swanson were both strong on the defensive end as well.

Emma Kruvalis and Kinsley Stillman returned to action after some time and were good to have back on the floor.

One of the biggest takeaways for the Hawks was their continued progress in breaking the press—an area where they've shown steady improvement throughout the season. With five games remaining, including three at the Hawks' Fieldhouse, Harper looks to keep building momentum.

Next up, the Hawks take on Kishwaukee at home this Saturday at 1 PM.
