Hawks Complete Second Sweep of Regents

Rockford, IL: The Hawks continued their dominance over the Rockford Regents, sweeping their second doubleheader in as many days. The Hawks took Game 1 in explosive fashion with a 16-4 run-rule victory in five innings before grinding out a 5-4 win in a tightly contested Game 2.  

Game 1: Offensive Onslaught Leads to Another Run-Rule Win  
Harper wasted no time setting the tone, putting up 16 runs in just five innings. Three different Hawks were forces at the plate:

Alex Tabbert went a perfect 4-for-4, driving in two runs and swiping three bases.  
-
Nick Drtina also had a flawless day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs.  
-
Spencer Geake continued his power surge, blasting a home run and adding a triple while collecting three RBIs.  

On the mound,
Anthony Santos pitched two innings and earned the win, striking out four as the Hawks overwhelmed Rockford early.  

Game 2: Hawks Hold Off Regents in a One-Run Thriller
After cruising in Game 1, the Hawks had to battle in Game 2, edging out Rockford 5-4 in a game that came down to the wire.
Logan Sarna delivered three scoreless innings to earn the win, while Jake Torres shut the door in the final frame to pick up the save.  


With another sweep under their belt, the Hawks continue to roll, improving their record as they build momentum for the rest of the season. They face off against Illinois Central on Thursday.
