Hawks Take Two from Cougars

Peoria, IL: The Hawks kept their momentum rolling with a doubleheader sweep over Illinois Central on Thursday, taking down the Cougars 11-6 and 11-7 on Jim Thome Field. Harper's offense stayed hot, racking up 22 total runs to secure two impressive road wins.  

Game 1: Hawks Take Early Lead and Never Look Back
Harper jumped ahead in the second inning with two runs and never relinquished control. They added two more in both the fourth and fifth innings before breaking the game open with a five-run seventh.  
-
Alex Tabbert led the Hawks' offense with three RBIs, including a double.  
-
Michael Mango and Cameron King each drove in two runs.  
-On the mound,
Zach Zalewski earned his second win of the season, pitching five solid innings to keep the Cougars in check.  

Game 2: Hawks Rally to Complete the Sweep
Illinois Central put up a fight in Game 2, leading 6-3 before the Hawks mounted a comeback. Harper's bats came through in the clutch, outscoring the Cougars 8-1 down the stretch to take the 11-7 victory.

Nick Drtina, Spencer Geake, and King each had two RBIs.  
-The Hawks' extra-base power was on display, with four different players hitting doubles.  
-
Jake Torres picked up his first win of the season, holding Illinois Central in check as Harper completed the sweep.  

With another dominant offensive showing, the Hawks continue to build on their strong season. They return home next to take on Moraine Valley as they look to keep their winning streak alive.
