Hawks Complete Thrilling Comeback, Sweep Cyclones

Palatine, IL: The Hawks continued their impressive season with a doubleheader sweep over Moraine Valley on Friday, winning an unforgettable 15-14 comeback in Game 1 before dominating Game 2 with an 18-5 run-rule victory. Harper's resilience and offensive firepower were on full display as they improved their record heading into another Region 4 matchup.

Game 1: Hawks Rally for an Incredible Walk-Off Victory
Trailing 11-3 entering the bottom of the sixth, the Hawks appeared to be on their way to a tough loss. But the team never quit, igniting a late-game surge that led to one of the most remarkable comebacks of the season.

Kevin Geake got things started with a solo home run in the sixth, sparking a four-run inning that cut the deficit to 11-7. After surrendering three more runs in the top of the seventh, the Hawks faced a daunting 14-7 hole.

Then, the magic happened.

A series of clutch hits, including a two-RBI double from
Spencer Geake, brought Harper within two runs. With two outs, Alex Tabbert singled, and an error allowed another run to score. Moments later, Michael Mango reached on another error, bringing in Tabbert and tying the game at 14. Anthony Milano delivered the final blow, hitting a walk-off single to right field to complete the stunning comeback.

Game 2: Hawks Ride Momentum to Run-Rule Victory
After their emotional Game 1 win, Harper wasted no time jumping all over the Cyclones in Game 2. The Hawks exploded for 10 runs in the second inning and five more in the third, securing an 18-5 run-rule win in just five innings.
Brayden Clancy and Brandon Koth both went deep with home runs. Connor Kave and Mango each tripled, keeping the pressure on Moraine Valley's defense. Joey Glozier, Tabbert, and Kave all collected three hits. Ethan Dorka earned another win on the mound, cruising through four innings as Harper dominated from start to finish.

The Hawks will take their hot bats and momentum on the road to face Region 4 foe Elgin on Saturday, looking to keep their winning ways alive.
