Hawks Split with Spartans, Take Game One Behind Sarna’s Strong Start

Elgin, IL: The Hawks traveled to face Region 4 opponent Elgin on Saturday, earning a 6-1 win in Game 1 before falling 10-0 in five innings in Game 2. The split moves Harper forward as they prepare for another tough test against McHenry on April 2nd.  

Game 1: Sarna Shines, Hawks Handle Spartans
Harper set the tone early in the doubleheader with a dominant 6-1 victory, fueled by strong pitching and timely hitting. Logan Sarna delivered a stellar performance on the mound, pitching six solid innings to earn his second win of the season. He kept the Spartans' bats in check, allowing just one run. Alex Tabbert led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, continuing his hot streak at the plate. Joey Glozier also had a strong game, collecting three hits to help keep the Hawks in control.  

Harper struggled to find momentum in the second game, falling 10-0 in five innings as Elgin's offense surged.


The Hawks will look to bounce back in their upcoming matchup against McHenry on April 2nd.
