Hawks Show Signs of Life but Fall Short Against DuPage

Glen Ellyn, IL: The Hawks hit the road for the first time this season, taking on the College of DuPage Chaparrals in a Friday doubleheader. While the Hawks struggled in game one, falling 17-0, they showed fight in game two, pushing the Chaparrals before ultimately dropping an 11-8 contest.  

The opener saw the Hawks' offensive struggles continue, as they were unable to generate much against a dominant DuPage pitching performance. Meanwhile, the Chaparrals capitalized on their opportunities, keeping Harper off the board and securing a lopsided win.  

However, game two told a different story, as the Hawks' bats finally came to life. Three different Harper hitters recorded multiple hits, while two players roped doubles to help spark the offense. The Hawks put together their best offensive performance of the young season, keeping pace with DuPage for much of the game before falling just short.  

Though the Hawks are still searching for their first win, the second-game surge was an encouraging sign. With their offense beginning to click, they'll look to build on this momentum as they continue their season.
