Hawks Swept by Stormers, 4-13 Both Games

Oak Creek, WI: The Hawks dropped both games of Thursday's doubleheader to Madison Area Technical College (MATC), falling 13-4 in each contest. The pair of losses puts the Hawks at 0-10 on the season as they continue to battle through their early schedule.

In game one,
Taylor Nicholsen got the start in the circle, but the Stormers came out hot, scoring five runs in the first inning and adding seven more in the second to take control early. The Hawks responded with four runs of their own throughout the game, highlighted by RBIs from Nicholsen, Amanda Ban, Gabriela Ward, and Meghan Meyer. Offensively, Harper showed flashes, with Nicholsen, Ban, Meyer, and Destiny Nino each collecting two hits.

Meyer took over pitching duties in game two, but the Stormers once again jumped out quickly, scoring three in the first and four runs in both the second and third innings. Nicholsen remained a steady presence at the plate, driving in two more runs and tallying another two-hit performance. Samantha Sok and Sammy Pracko also had two hits apiece, with Sok adding a double to her line.

Despite the losses, the Hawks continue to show growth at the plate and will look to build momentum this weekend as they travel to Ottawa for the Arrowhead-Skyway Clash. Harper is set to face off against Morton, Elgin, McHenry, and Oakton in a four-game stretch.
