Hawks Offense Stays Hot in Sweep of Statesmen

Palatine, IL: The Hawks baseball team continued its strong season with a doubleheader sweep of the Kennedy-King Statesmen on Saturday, winning 15-5 in game one and 15-11 in game two. The pair of victories pushes the Hawks further above the .500 mark as they head into a challenging stretch of the schedule.

In game one,
Jeremy Florez earned his second win of the season with a steady performance on the mound. The Hawks racked up 10 hits, highlighted by Will Hickey's three singles. Extra-base power came courtesy of Spencer Geake, Cameron King, and Connor Kave, who each doubled. The team also showcased their speed with four stolen bases to keep the Statesmen off balance.

Game two turned into more of an offensive slugfest, but the Hawks outlasted Kennedy-King behind a relentless attack at the plate.
Jake Torres picked up the win, also his second of the year, while the Hawks collected a staggering 18 hits.

Alex Tabbert and Joey Glozier led the charge with four hits apiece, while Kave and Jaxon Cook added three hits each. Glozier, Cook, and Matt Guza all doubled, and Glozier and King each drove in three runs to help power the Hawks to victory.

Next up, the Hawks face a significant test on Tuesday as they take on #11-ranked Kankakee, a perennial powerhouse in Region 4 play.
