Rodriguez and Rashad Lead Hawks at Green & White Invite

Milwaukee, WI: The Hawks men's track and field team put together another solid performance at the Green & White Invite hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran, continuing their outdoor momentum with standout efforts in sprints, hurdles, and mid-distance events. Several athletes hit personal bests, highlighted by Ivan Rodriguez's breakthrough in the 200m and Andrew Rashad once again dipping under 50 seconds in the 400m.

Sprints & Hurdles  

Rodriguez had a standout day, dropping a personal best 22.27 in the 200m — one of the top marks of the meet. He also posted an 11.19 in the 100m. Joining him in the 100m were Prince Ellington (11.48), Tyler Anderson (11.63), Devin Patel (11.73), and Connor Naskrent (11.99). Rodriguez also led a deep 200m crew that included Anderson (23.89), Patel (23.97), and Seth Cohen (25.10).

In the 400m,
Rashad once again proved his consistency, running a sharp 49.77 to lead the Hawks. He was backed by strong runs from Fortis Variano (51.14), Anthony LoBue (51.43), and Lucas McMillan (51.57), all continuing their solid spring form.

The hurdles saw a big personal best from
Tyler Thymian, who clocked 16.26 in the 110m hurdles. In the 400m hurdles, Joel Jones (63.04), Justin Brown (64.27), and Nicholas Navarrete (65.08) all made their event debuts, gaining valuable experience.

Mid-Distance & Distance

Dakota White led the 800m group with a near-sub-2 performance at 2:00.02. Connor Ariunbat (2:02.23), Nate Larsen (2:13.82), and Edwin Amaro (2:15.85) followed with strong efforts. In the 1500m, Owen Whelan led the Hawks in 4:11.94, followed by Jose Morales (4:21.98), Michael Johnson (4:29.40), and Jerome Graessle (4:37.56).

Ryan Golden continued his steady season in the 5k with a time of 15:47.18. RJ Moniri battled through the 10k in 37:31.10, while Jason Schmidt added another steeplechase result, running 10:32.48.

Field Events
In the jumps,
Stephen Osei vaulted 12' 9.5", while Ellington and Jaylen Calhoun both cleared 20' in the long jump. Shamar Allwood posted a mark of 39' 8.75" in the triple jump.

Throwers
Vladyslav Nakhim and Rodolfo Martinez competed in all four throwing events, showing continued consistency and improvement. Nakhim's 115' 11" in the javelin and Martinez's 115' 2" hammer throw were their standout marks of the day.


With another strong showing under their belts, the Hawks will now look ahead to their next test as the postseason nears. They go to Elmhurst on Friday for the Elmhurst Twilight meet.
