Hawks Drop Saturday Doubleheader to Kougars

Palatine, IL: The Hawks wrapped up a busy week of home action with a Saturday doubleheader against the Kishwaukee Kougars, falling 14-0 in six innings in game one and 11-3 in five innings in game two. The Hawks now sit at 3-17 on the season as they continue Region 4 play.

In game one,
Taylor Nicholson started in the circle, with Meghan Meyer pitching one inning in relief. Offensively, the Hawks were held in check by strong Kishwaukee pitching, with Ashlynn Fidalgo recording the team's lone hit.

Game two saw a spark from Harper's offense.
Gabriella Phillis got the start, and Sammy Pracko stepped in to pitch three innings in relief. The Hawks totaled 10 hits in the game, led by multi-hit efforts from Isabella Kmilek, Samantha Sok, Sophia Cobos, and Gabriela Ward. Phillis drove in two runs and Ward added another RBI. Kmilek and Sok also swiped a base each as Harper showed more aggression on the basepaths.

Despite the sweep, the Hawks saw promising signs in game two and will look to carry that offensive energy into Monday's home matchup against Moraine Valley.
