Hawks Split Home Doubleheader vs Scots

Palatine, IL: The Hawks returned home Wednesday for a doubleheader against the McHenry County Scots, falling in game one 12-7 before bouncing back to take game two 6-5 in dramatic fashion.

In the opener,
Logan Sarna got the start and went four innings, allowing four runs before turning it over to Zack Labrec, Daniel Broeker, and Anthony Santos out of the bullpen. A bright spot in the game was the return of Dominic Jacoby, who saw his first action since March 15 and wasted no time making an impact—finishing with a double, single, and a walk. Brayden Clancy and Michael Mango each chipped in with two RBIs to keep the Hawks within reach, but the Scots' offense proved too much.

Game two saw the Hawks show resilience, clawing out a 6-5 walk-off win.
Jake Torres started the game and pitched into the sixth, giving the Hawks a solid outing. Jacoby continued to make his presence felt by earning the win in relief, sealing a strong two-way performance on the day. The Hawks didn't record any extra base hits but relied on timely singles and patience at the plate. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh, Spencer Geake delivered the clutch moment, hitting a walk-off single to bring home Alex Tabbert and secure the split.

The Hawks are back in action Friday at home as they take on Prairie State.
