Hawks Split Doubleheader at DuPage in High-Scoring Showdown

Glen Ellyn, IL: The Hawks hit the road Saturday for a doubleheader against the DuPage Chaparrals, rallying for a 14-10 victory in game one before falling just short in a 6-5 extra-inning loss in game two.

In the opener, the Hawks put together a dramatic comeback, scoring five runs in the seventh inning to tie the game at 8 before adding six more over the final two frames.
Daniel Broeker earned the win on the mound after three strong innings of relief. Spencer Geake opened the game, pitching 1.1 innings, with David Essien covering the middle 3.2. Offensively, Harper collected 16 hits—14 of them singles. Dominic Jacoby led the charge with five RBIs, including a double, while Nick Drtina added a double and three RBIs of his own.

Game two was another tight contest that went nine innings, but the Hawks came up just short in a 6-5 loss. Five different pitchers appeared for Harper, with
Zack Labrec taking the loss. The bats remained active, producing 13 singles, though extra-base hits proved elusive. Joey Glozier paced the offense with two RBIs.

The Hawks will look to regroup and continue their strong offensive output as they prepare for upcoming matchups.
