Hawks Drop Doubleheader to Bobcats, Look Ahead to MATC

Palatine, IL: The Hawks continued their early-season road swing with a pair of tough losses to Bryant & Stratton, falling 11-1 in game one and 6-2 in game two. The defeats drop the Hawks to 0-8 on the season as they continue to search for their first win.  

In the opener, freshman Taylor Nicholsen took the mound for Harper, but the Bobcats' offense proved difficult to slow down. The Hawks managed just three hits in the game, with sophomore Brianna Linnemann driving in the team's only run.  

Game two saw Linnemann return to the circle and deliver a strong outing in a pitchers' duel. The game was locked at 2-2 until the seventh inning, when Bryant & Stratton put together a four-run rally to seal the sweep.  

Despite the losses, the Hawks showed grit and improvement on the defensive side, especially in the second game. They'll look to carry that momentum into Thursday's matchup against Madison Area Technical College (MATC), as they aim to notch their first win of the season.
