Hawks Volleyball Defends Home Court with Pair of Sweeps

Palatine, IL: Harper Volleyball hosted a Tri-Match with Kishwaukee and South Suburban… Harper defeated Kishwaukee 25-19, 25-19, 25-20, and defeated South Suburban 25-8, 25-14, 25-8.

Harper Volleyball is now 17-6 overall, and 8-0 in Region 4. Next match is a very familiar Region 4 opponent; Joliet, at Joliet Jr College on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, 6:00 p.m.

Harper College defeated Kishwaukee 25-19, 25-19, 25-20
The first set started out close at 4-4, but then Harper Volleyball took a big lead at 16-5. Kishwaukee closed the gap in a single rotation to 16-13. Harper held steady at 17-14, 18-15, and 20-17 before winning 25-19.
Lauren Ahlstedt (Lake Park High School) started out strong with 4 kills. Raegan Frappier (Mexico High School) was all over the court with 8 digs, and was 7-7 serving. Phoebe Kim (Hoffman Estates High School) was 9-9 serving.

Harper Volleyball started out 6-0, and then 10-6 on an
Ana Kadolph (Lake Park High School) bomb…  Harper extended the lead to 18-11, and a 25-19 win. Kylie Chojnowski (McHenry High School) got loose for 7 kills on 8 swings. Frappier continued her excellence with 8-9 serving and 4 digs. Ceylin Ertekin (Schaumburg High School) was 5-5 serving with 2 aces. Oliwia Bardo (Conant High School) added 5 digs.

Set three started out at 2-2 and 3-3, and then Harper fell behind 4-8, but caught up 8-8 behind
Ertekin's serves. Harper fell behind again, but pulled to 13-14… 3 serves later with Kim serving, Harper took a commanding (haha) 16-14 lead… then 20-16 and 24-20 on an Ali Pierre (Jacobs High School) smash, and 25-20 on a Ziya Cooks (Hoffman Estates High School) kill. Cooks had 3 kills and 2 blocks. Destiny Parsons (McHenry High School) added 3 kills. Kim was 7-8 serving with an ace. Bardo added 7 more digs – 13 digs for the match and a college career high, and a lot of service receptions.

Harper Volleyball started off with a giant 10-2 lead behind
Brianna Van Dyke's (Conant High School) serving; then led 14-4 behind Frappier's serves.  Harper extended to 22-7, and won 25-8 on yet another Van Dyke ace. The usual suspects, Jocelyn Erling (Huntley High School) had 4 kills on 6 swings, and Ahlstedt added 3 kills. Van Dyke was 6-7 serving with 3 aces. Kadolph was 7-8 serving. 

After a 2-2 tie in the second set, Harper jumped to a 9-4 lead, then 17-7 and a 25-14 win.
Mira Tchohadjieva (Palatine High School) had 5 kills on 6 attacks, and Parsons and Ahlstedt added 3 kills each. Setter Kim registered 12 assists in this middle set. Kadolph was 8-8 serving with 2 aces, and Erling was 5-6 serving with 3 aces.

In the final set, Harper jumped out again 9-1 and finished with a 25-8 win.
Tchohadjieva ended this set with 2 kills and 4 blocks. Pierre made her presence known, and was 9-9 serving with FIVE aces!! Frappier was 6-7 serving with 2 aces.


The Hawks have two away matches this week at Joliet and North Park then host the Harper Invitational on Saturday when they'll play Glen Oaks and Lake Michigan.
