Hawks Fall in Four Sets to North Park

Chicago, IL: Harper Volleyball was never really in the first set… falling behind 10-14 on the way to a 16-25 loss. Harper needs to start out faster out of the gate. Lauren Ahlstedt (Lake Park High School) led Harper with 3 kills. Libero Brianna Van Dyke (Conant High School) had 5 digs.

Harper Volleyball, still struggling, fell behind 4-8, 6-12 and 9-16 on the way to an 11-25 shellacking. Harper had just 2 kills in this entire set. Ana Kadolph (Lake Park High School) had 4 digs. Ceylin Ertekin (Schaumburg High School) was 3-3 serving with an ace.

Harper Volleyball used a different lineup in this set, and results were significantly different… the score was tied many times at 1-1, 2-2, 6-6, 8-8, 12-12, 14-14, 15-15, 18-18, and 19-19;  which is when Destiny Parsons (McHenry High School) stepped back to serve all the way up to 24-19 after an Ali Pierre (Jacobs High School) smash. Harper won 25-22. Pierre provided significant spark and led

Harper with 4 kills. Jocelyn Erling (Huntley High School) added 3 kills, and was 7-8 serving with 3 aces. Parsons was 5-7 serving, but with 3 aces.

In the fourth set, despite momentum, unfortunately Harper fell behind 3-8. Harper caught up with more ties at 10-10, 11-11, 12-12, 13-13, and 14-14.  But this time North Park edged ahead 14-18, and 16-20 on the way to a Harper loss at 22-25. Ahlstedt had 5 kills to lead Harper. Raegan Frappier (Mexico High School) was 5-5 serving with an ace, and 5 digs. Erling was 5-5 serving.
