Hawks Fall on the Road at MATC

Milwaukee, WI: The Hawks men's basketball team traveled to face Milwaukee Area Technical College on January 6 and battled throughout, but the Stormers pulled away in a high-scoring non-conference contest, earning a 128-93 victory. Harper competed with energy and executed offensively at times, but MATC's efficiency and depth helped build a decisive lead in the second half.

Harper's offense was paced by Rashad Peeples, who scored 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting with five made three-pointers, showcasing his ability to create looks from the perimeter. Joe Calombo Kimbirima contributed 17 points while attacking the paint and finishing around the rim, and Kevin Edgecombe added 15 points with strong interior presence and rebounding. Darrion Pippen scored 10 points with effort on both ends, and Wesley White chipped in seven points while playing active defense and cleaning the glass. Isaiah Manley and Anthony Hnilo each added eight points, while Miloš Merrick provided three points off the bench.

Harper shot 45.7 percent from the field overall and connected on eight three-pointers, but turnovers and defensive lapses allowed MATC to convert efficiently and build a lead that the Hawks could not overcome. The Stormers' balanced scoring and depth proved difficult to contain, particularly in the second half when they extended their advantage.
