Hawks Ranked 14th Nationally, 2nd Among Non-Scholarship Programs

Palatine, IL: As the 2025-26 wrestling season reaches its midpoint, the Harper Hawks are positioned well heading into the second semester and the new year. In the first Open Mat Rankings of 2026, the Hawks are ranked 14th overall in the nation and sit 2nd among NJCAA non-scholarship programs, trailing only last year's national runner-up, SUNY Niagara.

Head Coach Dan Loprieno and his staff have guided the Hawks through a strong first half of the season, showcasing both depth and individual excellence across multiple weight classes. Four Harper wrestlers earned national recognition in the latest rankings:
With a mix of proven sophomores and developing underclassmen, the Hawks enter the second half of the season with strong positioning for another deep postseason run. As the team continues to build toward the NJCAA National Tournament, Harper remains focused on reclaiming its place as the top non-scholarship wrestling program in the country.
