Hawks Drop Home Game to Illinois Valley

Palatine, IL: The Hawks men's basketball team hosted the Illinois Valley Community College Eagles on January 31 and fought throughout, but Illinois Valley pulled away for a 75-65 win. The Hawks stayed engaged on both ends early and remained within striking distance into the second half, but the Eagles' physical play and execution down the stretch proved the difference.

Harper was led by Joe Calombo Kimbirima's dominant night, as he scored 23 points on 11-of-14 shooting while grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds. Kevin Edgecombe added one of his best performances of the season with 17 points and 17 rebounds, controlling the paint on both ends and providing second-chance opportunities. Rashad Peeples contributed 11 points and four boards, including three made three-pointers that helped keep the Hawks in the game. Darrion Pippen scored seven points with five rebounds, and Wesley White added three points with defensive activity. Vanja Mrduljas, Miloš Merrick, Anthony Hnilo, Logan Arteaga, Marin Mrduljas, and Oscar Engfors all saw minutes, providing effort and support across the rotation.

The Hawks play next against South Suburban on the 5th at home.
