Hawks Open Season at Rosemont Tournament

Des Plaines, IL: The Hawks kicked off their season at The Dome in Rosemont, Illinois, competing in a four-game weekend tournament against Region 4 opponents. The Hawks dropped all four contests, falling to Madison Area Technical College (MATC) 8-3 and Highland (IL) 3-0 on Friday, before losses to Kishwaukee (13-0) and DuPage (17-6) on Saturday.

In the opening game against MATC,
Destiny Nino led the Hawks offensively with two RBIs, accounting for much of Harper's production at the plate. Despite early efforts, the Hawks were unable to keep pace with the Stormers. In the second game of the day, Harper battled defensively against Highland but was held scoreless in a 3-0 defeat.

Saturday presented another tough slate, beginning with a loss to Kishwaukee. The Hawks closed out the tournament against DuPage, where the offense showed signs of life.
Whitney Schnack drove in three runs, while Maddy Meyer added two RBIs in the team's highest-scoring output of the weekend.

While the results didn't fall in their favor, the Hawks gained valuable early-season experience against familiar competition. Harper will look to regroup and build on the positives as they prepare for their next matchup on March 29th against DuPage.
