PALATINE, IL-  The #1 ranked Harper College men's cross country team participated in the Benedictine Invitational in Lisle on Friday.  In a field of 18 teams, the Hawks finished 8th overall.

All five of the Hawks' scoring runners finished with times below 28 minutes and those five finished 48th place or better.  Reigning national player of the week Michael Sisko (/Harvest Christian-Elgin) led the team with a time of 27:16.2, which was good for 31st place overall.  Tony Espinoza (/Barrington) was the next Harper finisher, taking 26th place 4 seconds behind Sisko.  The remaining three scorers were Jacob Melgosa (/Jacobs) (45, 27:33.3), Jeff Glatz (/Lake Zurich) (47, 27:36.5), and Jack Casey (/Barrington) (48, 27:37.3).

Harper's next event will be on Friday, October 12 as they travel to Peoria to race in the Bradey Invitational.
