Women's Cross Country

Ledinsky and Pocica Earn All-American Honors at NJCAA Championships

Fort Dodge, IA: The Hawks women's cross country team closed out its 2025 season on Saturday at the NJCAA Division III National Championships, hosted by Iowa Central Community College at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course. The women's 5k began at 10:30 a.m. in challenging conditions, with temperatures around 34 degrees and steady snowfall throughout the race.

Sophomores Kasey Ledinsky and Natalia Pocica both delivered standout performances in their final races as Hawks, running with patience and composure in a tactical field. Ledinsky and Pocica finished 13th and 14th, earning NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Both runners executed smart races, steadily improving their positions throughout the 6k. Ledinsky opened the first kilometer in 17th place before methodically moving up through each split to finish 13th overall. Pocica started more conservatively, sitting 37th at the 1k mark, but gained ground with each lap—moving to 21st by 3k before closing hard over the final kilometer to break into All-American territory.

The performance capped off two decorated Harper careers. Ledinsky competed at the 2023 national meet, finishing 19th and helping the Hawks capture the 2023 NJCAA DIII National Championship. Pocica, who ran for the 2024 national runner-up team, repeated as an Honorable Mention All-American after earning the same distinction a year ago.
