Hawks Earn Three Top-20 Finishes at Ken Weidt Classic

Mequon, WI: The Hawks men's cross country team continued its 2025 campaign at the 33rd annual Ken Weidt Classic in Mequon, hosted by Concordia University–Wisconsin. The Hawks showed strong progress in their second meet of the season, highlighted by three top-20 finishes and multiple personal improvements.

Leading the way were Sebastian Welc and Ryan Golden, who ran side-by-side to place 9th and 10th overall with times of 27:14 and 27:17, respectively. Welc also earned USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week for his performance. Both earned meet tee shirts awarded to the top 15 collegiate finishers. Joining them was Jerome Graessle, who claimed 17th place in 28:21, an improvement of over a full minute from his time on the same course last season.

The Hawks placed two more runners under the 30:00 mark. Ethan Waddell clocked 29:22 for 28th place, while Michael Johnson, making his season debut, crossed in 29:44 for 35th place; seven seconds faster than his time on this course a year ago.

Just over the 30-minute barrier, Eric Escobedo made his collegiate debut with a 30:03 finish, while RJ Moniri followed in 30:20. Carter Swearingen rounded out the Hawks lineup in 31:03.

The Hawks will be back in action on Friday at Aspen Ridge Golf Course, where Olivet Nazarene University will host the Midwest Classic.
