KANKAKEE, Ill. – The #9 Harper College volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Kankakee Tri-Match on Saturday, dropping their opening contest to host Kankakee College before regrouping to defeat 4-year college Robert Morris College (Springfield).
Harper (33-12, 10-2 N4C) won the second game but ended up losing 3-1 (16-25, 25-23, 19-25, 23-25) to Kankakee (26-14).
Lindsey Pickle (Arlington Heights, Ill., Prospect) had 10 kills on 23-28 hitting while
Sarah House (Crystal Lake, Ill., Crystal Lake South) added 9 kills and
Lauren LaMasse (Hoffman Estates, Ill., Hoffman Estates) and
Liz Dotson (Palatine, Ill., Fremd) had 8 apiece. Dotson also had 6 blocks.
Andraia Leja (Crystal Lake, Ill., Prairie Ridge) led Harper with 20 digs while House and
Megan Kollmeyer (Tustin, Mich., Pine River) had 13 and 12 digs, respectively.
Alyssa Cazzato (Bartlett, Ill., Bartlett) had 33 assists.
The Hawks returned to the win column in their second match of the day with a sweep (25-22, 25-7, 25-16) of Robert Morris (15-11).
Stephanie Igielski (Streamwood, Ill., St. Edwards) had a team-best 10 kills while LaMasse had 8, House had 7, Dotson had 6 and Pickle had 5. Leja tallied 3 aces while Pickle and Igielski each had 4 blocks. Leja contributed 11 digs and
Kelly Sommers (Arlington Heights, Ill., Buffalo Grove) notched a double-double with 31 assists and 11 digs.
