Hawks Escape Morton on Lorenz Tip-in

CICERO, Ill. - It wasn't their best game, by any means, but the Harper College men's basketball team pulled out a 66-65 win over Morton Community College (4-4) on Tuesday night in Cicero.  John Lorenz (Elk Grove Village, Ill., Elk Grove) tipped in a missed shot with one second to play to give the Hawks the victory.

Harper (5-2) shot 38% from the floor and made only three of their 20 three-point attempts but managed to win in part to 13 steals.  Connor Miklasz (Mt. Prospect, Ill., Hersey) tallied five steals and Brian Battaglia (Elk Grove, Ill., Elk Grove) had three to lead the Hawk thievery.

Kyler Market (Lombard, Ill., Willowbrook) shot 7-11 from the field to lead Harper with 20 points and six rebounds.  Chris Hicks (Elk Grove Village, Ill., Elk Grove) had 15 points while Lorenz hit 2-4 from beyond the arc on his way to 14 points.  Battaglia added a team-high nine rebounds and four assists to his stat line while Miklasz played distributor with eight assists.

The Hawks get eight days off before returning to action against McHenry County College (4-3) on Dec. 1 in Crystal Lake.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7:15 PM.
