GLEN ELLYN, Ill. – Harper put together a solid team effort against DuPage on Tuesday night, sweeping all three games (25-10, 25-18, 25-19) in N4C action. Lauren LaMasse (Hoffman Estates, Ill., Hoffman Estates) led the way for the Hawks with 9 kills while Sarah House (Crystal Lake, Ill., Crystal Lake South) added 6 kills.
“We played well and it gave everyone a chance to play,” said head coach Bob Vilsoet. “All 15 that were there got to play some of the match.
With the win, the team improved to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play. After 3 setbacks in a row, the Hawks have won their last 4 matches.
Sierra Gilmore (Fayetteville, NC, Cape Fear) paced the Hawks on the frontline with five blocks while Andraia Leja (Crystal Lake, Ill., Prairie Ridge) led the back row with 13 digs. Lauren Knipp (Des Plaines, Ill., Maine West) and Liz Dotson (Palatine, Ill., Fremd) had 5 kills each, many of which were courtesy of Alyssa Cazzato (Bartlett, Ill., Bartlett), who had 19 assists.
Harper takes on McHenry on Thursday night in Crystal Lake. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
