CHICAGO, Ill. – Still searching for their first conference win, the Harper College men's basketball team dropped their fourth straight game on Saturday afternoon, 55-54 to host Wright.
Shonnon Barfield (Posen, Ill., Homewood-Flossmoor) led Harper (6-14, 0-4 N4C) with 21 points.
While the Hawks had their struggles on the offensive end, converting only 33% (20 of 60) from the floor, Harper was able to stay in the game by limiting Wright (6-11, 3-1) to 55 points. That output was the fewest amount of points the Hawks have surrendered all season.
While the team had its' struggles shooting the ball, Barfield sank 7 of his 11 shots.
Horace Grant, Jr. (Deerfield, Ill., Deerfield) pulled down a team-high five rebounds and was the Hawks' only other double figure scorer with ten points.
Louis Erkins (Schaumburg, Ill., Glenbard South) finished with nine points and four rebounds while
Brian Battaglia (Elk Grove, Ill., Elk Grove) had seven points and four assists.
Jordan Mack (Hillside, Ill., St. Joseph) corralled five rebounds, as well.
Connor Miklasz (Mt. Prospect, Ill., Hersey), who is currently 16th in the nation in assists per game with 5.4, dished out four against the Rams.
Up next, Harper squares off against Rock Valley (14-6, 3-1) on Wednesday night in Palatine. The Golden Eagles have won two in a row after beating Madison 70-64. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
