CHICAGO, Ill. - The Harper College men's basketball team rode a big second half to help them return to the win column, taking down Richard J. Daley College 69-68 on Tuesday night in Chicago.
Trailing 37-28 at intermission, the Hawks (6-10) outscored the Bulldogs (6-8) 41-31 in the second half to claim the victory and snap an eight game losing streak.
Four Hawks reached double figures in scoring.
Brian Battaglia (Elk Grove, Ill., Elk Grove) led the balanced attack with a season-high 18 points while
John Lorenz (Elk Grove Village, Ill., Elk Grove) added 14 points.
Jordan Mack (Hillside, Ill., St. Joseph) scored 13 while
Shonnon Barfield (Posen, Ill., Homewood-Flossmoor) scored 12 in his season-debut.
Up next, Harper begins conference play. The team's first N4C contest will be on Jan. 11 against Triton (12-3) in River Grove. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 PM.
