Team Effort Fuels Win over Judson JV

PALATINE, Ill. – Ten different players from the Harper College men's basketball team found the scoring column as the Hawks used a team effort to blow past Judson JV 79-40.
 
The Hawks took a 47-11 advantage into halftime and led by as many as 40 to win their third straight game.  The team was led by Charles Wright (Cheyenne East, Wy.), who scored a season-high 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
 
Harper (4-5) started the game on a 9-0 run as two baskets from Tyler Gaedele (Rolling Medows), a 3-pointer from Michael Rose (Rolling Medows) and a layup from Rose got the Hawks started out on the right foot.  It was over five minutes into the game before Harper finally let up a point.
 
Leading 12-4, Harper went on an 18-0 run, starting with Garett Gatz (Elk Grove Village, Ill., Conant) draining a 3-pointer and ending with two free throws from Julian Williams.
 
A three-pointer from Connor Miklasz (Hersey) put the Hawks up 56-16 with 17:36 left in the second half.
 
Harper shot 48% (32 of 67) from the floor and committed a season-low six turnovers.  Wright hit on 7 of his 10 shots from  the field while Rose made 5-of-6 for 14 points.  Gaedele added ten points for the Hawks and Williams had career highs of eight points and five rebounds.

The Hawks wrap up the first half of the season with a non-conference road matchup with Olive-Harvey on Saturday.  Tipoff is slated for 3:00 PM.
