Game Preview: Harper vs. Morton

CICERO, Ill. – The Harper College women's basketball team is vying for their first win of the 2013-14 campaign as they travel to Morton College tonight for a 5 PM time. The Hawks are coming off a loss to Trinity International University on Saturday while Morton fell to DuPage on Saturday.

The Hawks are 0-5 on the season while the Panthers are 4-2 but losers of two straight.

Last Meeting

The Hawks bested the Panthers 68-61 last season at home behind 21 points and 13 rebounds from Monica Hinderer (Arlington Heights, Ill./The Willows Academy). Rachel Payne (Wheeling, Ill./Schaumburg Christian Academy) also had 21 points while Nicole Soderholm (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) added 15.

Key Players

Through five games of the 2013-14 season, Hinderer is leading the Hawks is scoring (21.0 PPG) and rebounding (14.4 RPG). Payne is averaging 15.4 PPG and leads the team in assists at 4.2 per game.

Freshman forward Isis Mance leads the Panthers in scoring at 17.8 PPG and also in rebounding at 8.2 RPG. Forward Briana Smith is the team's second-leading scorer (9.6 PPG) and rebounder (8.0 RPG).
