Harper Names Jodi Marver Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Palatine, IL: Harper College has announced the hiring of Jodi Marver as the new head coach of the women's basketball program. Marver will begin her tenure leading the Hawks in the 2026–27 season, bringing a proven track record of success and player development to the program.

Marver joins Harper after serving as an assistant coach at Lake Forest College during the 2025–26 season, where she contributed to player development, scouting, and game preparation at the collegiate level.

Prior to her time at Lake Forest, Marver spent seven seasons as the head coach at Willows Academy in Des Plaines, Illinois, where she built one of the most successful stretches in program history. She led the Eagles to three consecutive IHSA Regional championships and the first Sectional championship in school history. Willows Academy posted an 81–24 record over her final three seasons and finished 147–61 overall during her tenure. Marver was named an Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

"Jodi is a proven leader who understands how to build a successful program from the ground up," said Dr. Brown. "Her ability to develop student-athletes, establish a strong team culture, and sustain success over time made her the clear choice to lead our women's basketball program. We are excited about the direction she will take Harper basketball."

Marver began her coaching career at Niles North High School, where she served as head junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach. During that time, she also gained experience at the club and feeder levels, helping develop players across multiple stages of their basketball careers.

A 2015 graduate of Knox College, Marver was a standout student-athlete for the Prairie Fire. She was a four-year starter and finished her career with 1,267 points, 306 rebounds, 167 assists, and 131 steals. Marver earned Academic All-Midwest Conference honors, served as a team captain, and was named the team's Most Valuable Player in each of her final three seasons. As a senior, she received Knox College's Harley Knosher Female Athlete of the Year Award. In 2023, she was inducted into the Knox College Hall of Fame.

In addition to her coaching experience, Marver has worked as a teacher at Willows Academy, demonstrating her commitment to student-athlete development both on and off the court.

Marver takes over a Harper program that continues to grow and evolve at the NJCAA Division II level, with a focus on competitiveness, culture, and long-term success.
