MADISON, Wis. – The Harper College women's basketball team showed tremendous improvement not only from last season to this season, but throughout the course of this season, as well.  That is clearly evident from the team's three matchups against Madison College.  The Hawks lost 80-36 in the team's first meeting, 65-43 in the second meeting and in their third game of the season, Harper managed to hang close before falling 71-60 in the Region IV quarterfinals on Wednesday night.

Harper finishes the season 10-14, a sign that the program is on the upswing after last season.

Nicole Soderholm (Arlington Heights, Ill., Buffalo Grove) led the Hawks with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists.  Monica Hinderer (Arlington Heights, Ill., The Willows Academy) added 15 points and eight rebounds while Rachel Payne (Wheeling, Ill., Schaumburg Christian Academy) dished out seven assists.  Jayna Rowland (Arlington Heights, Ill., Christian Liberty Academy) and Tiffany Jost (Hoffman Estates, Ill., Schaumburg) also had strong offensive games with nine and six points, respectively.
