MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Harper volleyball team earned a N4C win in three sets at Milwaukee Area Technical College Wednesday night, 25-9, 25-14, 25-15.

Harper (24-7, 6-2 N4C) started out well in the first set, holding leads of 7-2 and 14-3 on the way to victory. Outside hitter Shannon Igielski (Streamwood, Ill/St. Edward) started out with four kills on nine attacks, and Daniel Sortino added three kills. Setter Sarah Bregenzer (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) dished out five assists, and Adriana Loiacono (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) added four assists and was 13-of-13 serving with three aces.

The Hawks took a 12-7 lead in the second set over the Stormers (0-14, 0-9 N4C) and extended the lead to 20-7 on the way to a 25-14 win. Igielski added four more kills, and Sortino and Morgan Peterson (Roselle, Ill./Conant ) put down three kills each. Libero Mia Harper (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Rolling Meadows) had six digs in the set.

Harper raced out to a 7-0 advantage in the third set behind the serving of Lindsey Murphy (Lake in the Hills, Ill./Crystal Lake South) (12-of-12, ace in the set). The Hawks stretched the lead to 13-4 and 18-10 on the way to a match win. Alyssia Dugo (Algonquin, Ill. /Jacobs) and Lauren Sokolowski (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Rolling Meadows) led the attack with six kills and four kills, respectively. Setter Jillian Hoffman (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) dished out 11 assists in the set.

Igielski and Sortino totaled eight kills apiece in the match, while Loiacono was a perfect 20-of-20 serving with four aces. Mia Harper (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Rolling Meadows) notched a team-high 17 digs.

The Hawks are back on their home court Thursday evening at 6 PM as they play host to No. 1 Madison College (20-2, 7-0 N4C).
