Box Score 2 PALATINE, Ill. – After winning three straight games to improve to 3-1 on the season, the Harper College women's basketball team suffered a pair of road losses at Moraine Valley Community College and Prairie State College in a span of three days. The Hawks lost 61-55 to Moraine Valley on Thursday night and fell 92-36 to Prairie State on Saturday.
Harper vs. Moraine Valley Community College
In the game against Moraine Valley, the Hawks trailed 30-25 at the half and could not overtake the Cyclones (2-1). Harper forward Joslyn Nicholson (/Cary-Grove) scored a season-high 30 points to go along with five rebounds and five steals. Nastia Solsaa (/Menomonie ) scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Kim Herzog (/Buffalo Grove) scored six points and dished out 10 assists.
Harper vs. Prairie State College
Harper struggled from the start against Prairie State (2-1), falling into 40-12 hole by halftime. The Hawks shot just 26 percent (13-of-50) from the floor in the game, compared to 45.1 percent (37-of-82) for the Pioneers. Harper also committed 30 turnovers and was outrebounded 59-29 by Prairie State.
Joslyn Nicholson (/Cary-Grove) paced the Hawks with 14 points and seven rebounds, and Ashonte Sims (/Normal Community West) scored 10 points.
