DES PLAINES, Ill. – The Harper College men's basketball team travels to Oakton Community College tonight for a 7 PM tip.
The Hawks (4-6) are looking to win back-to-back games for the first time this season while the Raiders (3-7) have lost five of their last six games. Harper won its last game against the Olivet Nazarene JV team last Thursday night, and Oakton is coming off a loss to Kishwaukee College on Saturday.
Last Meeting
The two teams last met on Dec. 10, 2013 in Palatine, a game the Hawks won 76-65. Former Hawks Kevin Walsh (/St. Viator) and Kevin Sexton (/Prospect) led the way with 28 and 16 points, respectively.
Key Hawks
Robert Hudson (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Conant) (16.3 PPG, 5.9 RPG) and Admir Suljic (Chicago, Ill. /Lane Tech) (15.6 PPG) are the Hawks' top two scorers. Hudson has scored in double figures in all nine games he's played and was named the NJCAA Region IV Player of the Week on Nov. 17. Suljic is coming off a career-high 35 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Olivet JV. He has been lethal from 3-point land this season, shooting 45.3 percent (24-of-53).
Davion Benton (Chicago, Ill. /Alcott College Prep) also averages in double figures scoring at 10.9 PPG and is the team's top rebounder at 8.5 RPG. Marcus Gatlin (Chicago, Ill./Curie) (6.1 PPG), Jamal Sherman (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) (5.9 PPG) and Jalon Roundy (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) (4.9 PPG)will also be relied on for scoring.
Key Raiders
Zerell Jackson leads the Raiders in scoring at 15.0 PPG. Anthony Cole (13.2 PPG), Chris Medard (9.6 PPG) and Connor Nass (8.0 PPG) are all formidable scoring options for Oakton.
