DES PLAINES, Ill. – The Harper College women's basketball team travels to Oakton Community College tonight for a 5 PM game. The Hawks (4-6) are looking to snap a three-game losing streak while the Raiders (4-5) are also looking to end a three-game skid.
Last Meeting
The two teams last met on Dec. 10, 2013 in Palatine, a game that Oakton won 61-47. Former Hawks Rachel Payne (Wheeling, Ill./Schaumburg Christian Academy) and Monica Hinderer (Arlington Heights, Ill./The Willows Academy) scored 18 and 14 points, respectively.
Key Hawks
Harper forward Joslyn Nicholson (/Cary-Grove) is averaging 21.1 PPG (12th in the nation) and 10.1 RPG. She has six double-doubles in 10 games, including a 19-point, 18-rebound effort in the Hawks' last game at Trinity Christian JV.
Ashonte Sims (/Normal Community West) (8.8 PPG, 4.5 RPG) and Kim Herzog (/Buffalo Grove) (7.2 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 4.7 APG) will also be relied on for scoring. Sharpshooter Lane Winkler (Arlington Heights, Ill./Rolling Meadows) (4.9 PPG, 7.1 RPG) poses a threat from deep and is also a strong rebounder. Shannon Koch (/Prospect) recently stepped into a starting role and will look to give the Hawks a lift.

The Raiders are led in scoring by Alicia Gutierrez at 18.4 PPG. Rebecca Bartnicki averages a double-double at 12.3 PPG and 13.4 RPG (third in NJCAA Div. II), and Seanicia Gibson averages in double figures in scoring at 11.0 PPG.
