Box Score RIVER GROVE, Ill. – The Harper College men's basketball team struggled to find its rhythm on Saturday afternoon at No. 8 Triton College and lost 81-46.
The Hawks (7-11, 0-2 N4C) trailed 49-23 at half and shot just 28.4 percent (19-of-67) for the game. The Trojans (16-2, 2-0 N4C) used a balanced attack and shot 50.7 percent (35-of-69) in the win. All five starters reached double figures, led by 16 points apiece from Tory Pearson and Brian Howard. Donovan Smith had 13 points.
For Harper, Admir Suljic (Chicago, Ill. /Lane Tech) led the way with 15 points and nine rebounds. Davion Benton (Chicago, Ill. /Alcott College Prep) had 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Randy Hewitt (Chicago, Il/Roycemore School) scored nine points.
The Hawks play their first home conference game of the 2014-15 season on Wednesday as they host the Wilbur Wright College Rams (5-10, 0-2 N4C). Tipoff is set for 7 PM inside the Wellness & Sports Center.
