PALATINE, Ill. – In yesterday's Region IV Report, Harper College men's basketball player Davion Benton (Chicago, Ill. /Alcott College Prep) was named the Region IV Div. III Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 5-11. Benton's selection marks the fourth time a Harper player has won the award this season.

Benton, a 6-foot-5 freshman forward, averaged 16.5 points per game and 13 rebounds per game in two games last week. Against No. 1 Rock Valley College, Benton posted a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Benton followed that performance up with 10 points and 12 rebounds in Saturday's game at No. 8 Triton College.

In 17 games this year, Benton is averaging 11.9 PPG (third on team) and 9.8 RPG (first on team, fourth in the region).
