Box Score OGLESBY, Ill. – The Harper College women's basketball team played a tough Illinois Valley Community College squad on Thursday night on the road. The Eagles (3-1) built up a 14-point halftime lead on their way to a 75-62 victory over the Hawks (1-3).
Harper trailed 46-32 at halftime and struggled from the field throughout the contest, shooting just 31.1 percent (23-of-74). The Hawks outscored the hosts 30-29 in the second half.
Hawks guard Jackie Stroud (Norridge, Ill. /Ridgewood) paced the team with 19 points on 7-of-17 shooting. Mary Saitta (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates) scored a career-high 15 points and snagged nine rebounds, and Lexi Zades (/Conant) scored a career-best 11 points and dished out five assists. Point guard Kim Herzog (/Buffalo Grove) contributed five points, six rebounds, and six assists.
The Eagles' Daniela Pavlovich was a force to be reckoned with, scoring a game-high 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting and 5-of-10 from three-point land. Hannah Wolfe scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Emily Hoscheid (13 points) and Jill Wignes (10 points) both reached double figures in scoring. Illinois Valley shot 45.3 percent (29-of-64) from the floor.
Harper plays its next game at Morton College (0-3) on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 5 PM.
